About LHS
By number of installations we are one of the leading providers of software for billing and customer care systems for mobile and fixed line telecommunications and data service providers.
The basis for revitalizing the LHS brand was formed when selected LHS products and business activities were taken over in February 2004 by the private equity investor General Atlantic and LHS Beteiligungs AG from Schlumberger, an oilfield and information services company. The LHS products that were brought to market after reachieving independence have a wide variety of functions combined with a high degree of flexibility. Thus, they meet the demands of the market for convergence particularly well. Our customers thus gain a competitive advantage, thanks to our flexible and modular software architecture. In 2005, our software received the GSM Association award as the “Best Billing or Customer Care Solution” with respect to its deployment as a convergent prepaid and postpaid rating system. In 2005 and in 2006, it received the IIR World Billing Award for the overall best contribution to billing at the “Billing Systems” trade fair in London.
Our prospects are very promising as telecommunications services have been increasingly influencing our daily lives and the market for billing these services has been growing accordingly. At the same time, our presence in various countries of the so-called emerging markets has been developing apace as the demands on the complexity of billing have also been growing. And it is just in these markets that we are very well represented and have been benefiting from high growth rates.
Our products support the convergence of systems for billing fixed-line, mobile and data services. Moreover, our customers use our products to bill mobile and fixed-line users, regardless of whether they have a pre-paid or post-paid account. The success of a provider is often decided by his ability to develop new and innovative services and service packages and being able to bill them. LHS’s products give telecommunications companies this flexibility, for example, our latest, award-winning platform called BSCS iX.
LHS also intends to take advantage of market opportunities early on and to number among the first movers with respect to new developments in order to make future growth possible.
In addition to its main headquarters in Frankfurt am Main, the LHS Group has regional head offices in Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and São Paulo and sales or service offices in Istanbul, Mexico City, Paris and Prague. As of 30 June 2007, LHS Group consisted of 13 companies and employed a total of 590 permanent employees.
