LHS sets new heights on the HP Integrity Superdome server and HP StorageWorks disk array with 1.6 million bills per hour
Cutting-edge solution proves outstanding throughput and scalability up to 64 dual-core processors
Frankfurt, Germany – March 12, 2008 – LHS, a leading provider of telecom billing and customer care systems across the wireless, wireline, and IP telecom markets worldwide, announced today the results of the latest benchmark of LHS' convergent charging solution based on BSCS iX Release 2 on an HP Integrity Superdome server and HP StorageWorks XP12000 disk array. The latest performance benchmark, deployed in an offline charging mode, demonstrated that with the available hardware resources, operators could support more than 60 million postpaid subscribers in a single installation, and verified its scalability up to 64 dual-core CPUs (128 Cores).
The performance tests were performed in accordance with standard methodology on a database instance that contained 60 million subscribers with 10 traffic services and one balance product per contract. The tests were designed to simulate near-production environments of tier-1 telecom service providers. This set-up produced 1.58 million bills per hour, while the rating chain processed 243 million CDRs per hour. The customer management server created 845,000 contracts per hour and supported both 14,400 CSRs and 15,000 customer self-care users. This result demonstrates outstanding throughput and superior capacity to deliver powerful and cost-effective off-line charging, billing and customer care solutions of BSCS iX Release 2.
The benchmark tests were conducted on a platform that consisted of the HP systems at the HP European Performance and Benchmark Center in Boeblingen, Germany.
“BSCS iX release 2 is the latest edition of LHS’ integrated customer care and billing platform for mobile, fixed-line and multi-service communications providers. The latest performance tests, conducted on a high-end HP Integrity Superdome server and HP StorageWorks XP12000 disk array, have once again achieved outstanding results and demonstrate our continued ability to deliver high performance solutions to support the complex billing requirements and high expectations of customer care increasingly demanded by communications markets around the world,” said Dr. Jens Troetscher, CTO at LHS.
LHS and HP have been working together for more than 15 years to deliver and improve high-performance business support solutions that equip communications providers with powerful solutions to meet their business challenges and maintain growth.
